Eric William Dane (was born on November 9, 1972) - is an american actor. Is best known for playing Dr. Mark Sloan in the TV series "Grey's Anatomy."

Dane was born in San Francisco, the son of mother-housewife and his father-in designer. Dane a Jew, he has young brother. He graduated high school in San Mateo, California. At school, he loved sports, but decided to participate in the school play "All My Sons," the novel by Arthur Miller.
